10. MOP Type 1 Thought Production - Cognition

This chapter begins the discussion of the other key player in your brain-mind, MOP (memetic operations).  MOP’s job is to file and store words in word Vectors, create words from sounds in the Sound Vector, use words in communication with others, and produce all of your thoughts.  We decided to use the acronym MOP because memes rhymes with genes and memetic rhymes with genetic.  Memes was coined by Richard Dawkins to describe the intergenerational gene-like transference of social, cultural, and psychological behaviors.  Dawkins argued that just as genes pass biological information from one generation to the next, “memes” pass social, cultural, and psychological information from one generation to the next.  It’s MOP that produces the words and thoughts used to pass social, cultural, and psychological information from one generation to the next.  In this chapter we discuss how MOP processes letters, syllables, phonetics, words, and the meaning of words.
